Seniors win Meelin Tournament - 28th July 2002
The Senior hurlers put in a good second half display at the Meelin Grounds last Sunday evening (28th July 2002), where they overcame Birr of Offaly on a score line of 1-19 to 2-11. Ben O'Connor put on a marvellous display of point taking, at this the home of his grandfather, the late Ben O'Connor, who the Cup was in memory of. The club deserves the highest praise for the splendid work done on their pitch, which had a wonderful sod. It was a pity the weather wasn't kind that night. Our thanks to Meelin for inviting us in their tournament.
