A marvellous night was had at the GAA/Camogie social last Friday night at the Devon Inn. A packed hotel room saw many faces from the past when the 1953 team were honoured, plus a lifetime achievement award for Joe Twomey.
The minor hurling champions were honoured but pride of place went to the senior hurlers on their historic march through Munster. Best wishes were extended to them for their forthcoming semi-final against the Kilkenny champions on Sunday week from all the speakers present. Truly a wonderful night. It's seldom if ever that such a crowd has filled this Limerick venue for such an event. Thanks to MC Simon Morrissey for a colorful time on the blower. Nobody was left out of his introductions.
