![]() St. Mary's Camogie Club was formed two years ago on the South Side of Chicago (Oak Lawn area). Camogie was a popular sport in Chicago about 15 years ago and then died away but now there is great interest in reviving the sport in the US. The club has been growing steadily since, and qualified for the North American GAA Final last year. St. Mary's have just begun training for the summer. All the major cities in the US that have football, hurling and camogie teams have their own leagues and the winners from the various levels then go on to play the other cities in a big playoff weekend (usually the first week in September - hosted by a different city each year, e.g. Boston, Washington, Chicago). It's great fun and the level of competiton is getting higher each year. If anyone is interested in playing camogie with St. Mary's Camogie Club, Chicago for the coming year please contact Maura Corry at the following email address: Chicago_Camogie@hotmail.com (North American Camogie Association) We say a Cead Mile Failte and New York welcome to all camogie clubs to our link.
